The B32 Speargun Open is a robust and the more evolved range from Meandros. It responds to the needs of the evolving spearo and demanding hunters that are not satisfied with simple tubular spearguns. It is identified by its bright orange handle and matt black round 32mm barrel.

The strength and buoyancy of the B32 allows the user to use heavier shafts and the range of spearguns come in longer sizes, designed for larger fish.

Particular attention has been paid to all parameters that make up a superb quality product that is easy-to-use and offers unprecedented ballistic performance levels. It has been designed to overcome the problems and weaknesses of common aluminum or carbon tubular spearguns, such as intense recoil, deformations, buoyancy. The B32 and offers long-lasting reliability and excellent operation of all its mechanical parts. 

The B32 is fitted with one of the most advanced ergonomic B32 LEADER handles with a particularly low profile and a non-slip, obtuse anatomic orange grip. It has a loading butt and inverted full stainless steel heavy duty trigger mechanism with minimal weight and maximum sensitivity.

The reverse mechanism extends the loading length by 9.5 cm over conventional spearguns. It has an ambidextrous mechanical side line release, water balance to improve shaft speed, reduced friction guide and ambidextrous shooting line guide. Included bore hole allows easy adaptations to invert and roller style spearguns.

A milestone and benchmark is the revolutionary pin roller system. Meandros was the inventor of the the patented pin roller system. This offers reduced friction with zero wear at the point of contact with the bar but also distributes the load received from the bar at 3 points – two contact points at the housing and one point at the hook, which now accepts a small part of the pressure exerted and not 100% of it. The hook now has a much lower pressure at the point of contact with the trigger, with the result that the pressure exerted on the trigger to release the shaft is much less than a classic type reverse mechanism.

The included reel mount of the handle will fit any of the Meandros Reels, or other flat mount fixed reel. Handle comes with a sophisticated safety uniquely positioned in the base of the trigger guard.

The tubular barrel is made of aluminum alloy with an integrated, V-shaped, rail guide with water cavity beneath the spear. This v-shape delivers stiffness with a minimum weight of positive buoyancy of 4.16 gr / cm. The thickness of the barrel wall varies around the circumference for improved strength  and stiffness with less weight (1.50mm – 2.10mm depending on the stress point). This is an engineering improvement on the rest of the circular tubes in the market.

Stiffness coupled with the absence of recoil, achieves shot precision and top ballistic performance at a distance from the tip of the spear to 5 times the length of the barrel. Much of the energy from the bands to the spear is absorbed and is lost in the recoil when the mass of the barrel and gun is generally disproportionate to the setting. The B32 is a sturdy and robust rig that guarantees rigidity with minimal energy loss from recoil. Similar performance with shot quality cannot be obtained from a common barrel of 28x1mm aluminum or carbon 30 × 2 mm. In order to maintain stiffness out-of-barrel too, attention has been given to the grip / head attachment points of the barrel in terms of geometry and static materials, so that at high load the deformation at the connection points is almost zero.

The open head type has a particularly elegant hydrodynamic design that makes the movement of the gun in any direction a simple easy task. The double bands are positioned in the muzzle in a different position and height, which contributes to agility, responsiveness, avoidance of vibration and friction between them.

The trapezoid-shaped spear guide contacts  the spear at 3 points, giving hydro-reduction with reduced friction.
